The sunflower seed campaign by UCC-SB raised $11,085 at Saskatoon Co-Op stores

The sunflower campaign was a seed of an idea and it definitely grew into a tall, beautiful sunflower fundraiser for the war effort. Thank you to Saskatoon Co-op for being one of our collaborating partners.

“Sunflower seed packets were available at multiple locations around Saskatoon and Saskatchewan.”

The sunflower seed campaign started as an idea for the Ukrainian community to gather for a one-time gathering to package some seeds, visit to discuss the recent onset of the war in Ukraine, and perhaps make a bit of fundraising money from selling the packages.

This idea sprouted and grew into several packaging bees and several collaborations to help raise funds for the war effort in Ukraine. Approximately 20,000 seed packages were filled and one of our community partners who came on board to help support our initiative is the Saskatoon Co-Op stores.

Today we got presented a cheque for the funds that they gathered. We are grateful for their and the community’s support. Thank you to Saskatoon Co-op and all their patrons for your generous support. The cheque amount was $11,085.

Glory to Ukraine! Glory to Heroes!
